An independent survey has found Tasmanians have high regard for the service they receive from Ambulance Tasmania.
Survey respondents rated Ambulance Tasmania’s service very highly across the board from response times to paramedic treatment.
Tasmanians recorded 99 per cent satisfaction with the response times to phone calls, up from 98 per cent in 2010 and they rated operator service a perfect 100 per cent, an improvement of two per cent over last year.
The Council of Ambulance Authorities research found satisfaction with paramedic care jumped two points to 99 per cent and likewise the standard of patient treatment.
Ambulance response times also improved, up three per cent from last year to 96 per cent in 2011, despite demand rising five per cent to 73,500 responses in 2010-2011.
The only area of decline in satisfaction was in ambulance trip conditions – down two points to 92 per cent. However, the study’s authors noted a lower score in trip ride satisfaction could be explained by distance of travel and windier roads, among other things.
