Final year UTAS nursing students can apply for 115 jobs in Tasmania's public health system from today.
Online applications will be accepted until 13 September for positions that start in early 2014.
While we are offering 115 positions in 2014, that number fluctuates from year to year depending on workforce needs.
This year 115 positions were offered initially and ultimately 130 graduates were employed.
As well as jobs in Tasmanian Health Organisations (THOs), additional opportunities for local graduates can be found in private hospitals, private practices, aged and community care, private mental health facilities and interstate.
Information sessions held across the state over the past two weeks have been well attended, with positive feedback received.
Many states and territories are experiencing a relative oversupply of graduates and Tasmania is working with Health Workforce Australia on innovative new ways to address this.
In the meantime, the THOs continue to offer as many positions as possible in the public health system.
First round offers will be made to successful applicants from 29 October 2013.
