Tasmanians with a passion for and understanding of disability services are being encouraged to express their interest in a position on the National Disability Insurance Scheme Board or Advisory Council.
NDIS will be a significant step forward in providing services and support for Tasmanians with disability.
People involved on the NDIS Board or Advisory Council will have a direct role in the implementation and delivery of NDIS.
Advertisements will appear in the state's three papers over the weekend of 5-6 January 2013, inviting expressions of interest from people with knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• providing or using disability services
• corporate governance
• financial management
• the operation of insurance or compensation schemes.
The selection of Tasmania as a launch site for the NDIS from 1 July 2013 will see additional support and services for around 1000 Tasmanians with a disability aged between 15 and 24.
Visit www.dhhs.tas.gov.au/disability for more information about the board and council, and an expression of interest form.
