A new Disability Community Access Centre in Lenah Valley will mean improved access to recreational activities and support for young Tasmanians with a disability.
The State Government funds Supported Tenancy Accommodation and Respite (STAR) Tasmania to provide supported accommodation, community access, individual support and in-home and centre-based respite services for Tasmanians with disability.
The new facility will provide weekday recreational activities and support to young people with a disability and much needed respite for carers and family members. It will also be a venue for school holiday programs.
The Community Access Centre supports the personal interests of participants and their choice of support and service provider which is the cornerstone of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
