Tasmanian Firm to Build Housing IT System

A Tasmanian IT firm has won the contract to build a new integrated IT housing management system for Housing Tasmania.

The $1.2 million contract was won by Geometry Pty Ltd, a locally owned and managed progressive software development company.

The project includes the development of the new information management system for Housing Tasmania and a five-year support agreement.

Geometry recently recruited two new employees, largely as a result of winning the tender. 

The new team members are both recent graduates from University of Tasmania and have been employed as software developers.

The housing management system will assist Housing Tasmania deliver new and innovative ways of using information to better support business functions by delivering a single, integrated system. 
 
It will also offer more effective and efficient ways of working by streamlining processes and reducing duplication, which will in turn provide better services to clients. 

For Housing Tasmania clients, the new system will:
  • introduce more options for clients to access and provide information, through an online self-service portal
  • deliver a more responsive service
  • provide reliable and relevant information, and
  • prevent clients having to repeat the same information.
