Shellfish Quality

The Tasmanian Shellfish Quality Assurance Program (TSQAP) is now managed by the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.

Public Health Services recommend people not eat recreationally harvested wild bivalve shellfish including:

  • Oysters (Pacific and Native)
  • Mussels
  • Clams
  • Pipis
  • Cockles
  • Wedge Shells
