Review of Tasmania's Disability Legislation

Directions Paper now available

The Department of Health and Human Services have reviewed Tasmania’s Disability Services Act 1992.

The legislation was reviewed to ensure that it reflects contemporary practice in the provision of services to people with a disability.

The Department sought comments from interested parties, including people with a disability, their families and carers and the organisations that support them.

A Directions Paper was made available,and provided a broad outline of the proposed content and structure of the new legislation.

The Directions Paper was released to encourage community feedback and discussion.
