Correctional Primary Health Services - Risdon Prison Complex, Hobart

About the role

An exciting and challenging opportunity to be part of the supportive Correctional Primary Health Team. The team consists of three doctors, thirty five nurses with ancillary service staff working across six Tasmania wide prison facilities.

Working conditions are pleasant and modern.

Full use is made of information technology to service a clientele of 500 prisoners.

Position requirements

The position requires a good and current knowledge of general practice, chronic physical health including hepatitis C, mental health, drug and alcohol and forensics. Training in these areas will be offered to the successful candidate if needed.

Employment conditions

Salary – to be negotiated in accordance with the Salaried Medical Practitioners (AMA Tasmania/DoH) Interim Agreement 2015, Medical Practitioner (Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience).

Position Type Permanent - full-time day work (with on-call)

Essential Requirements - general or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
