Innovation, leadership and excellence in care recognised at DHHS

Innovation, leadership and excellence delivering improved services and care for patients and clients will be recognised through an awards program launched by the Department of Health and Human Services.

The Innovations Awards 2013 will celebrate excellence in service delivery and care and create leaders of the future in the health and human services sector.

The Awards are about recognising the people in DHHS and the community sector who dedicate their working lives to improving services, without expecting recognition for what they do.

As an organisation the DHHS prides itself on excellence and innovation and a way to embed these values in the workplace is by celebrating the efforts of leaders in their fields.

The Innovations Awards 2013 continue in the tradition of the previous, Innovations in Practice Awards, which began in 2010.

This year the DHHS' Community Service Excellence Awards will be incorporated into the overall Innovations Awards for the first time. These awards are open to community sector organisations and individuals.

Applicants will be able to enter three categories each divided into health and community service categories for best team contribution for service excellence, the leadership award through new ways of working and the leadership award for safety and quality.

For the first time, there will also be a top award for excellence in person-centred care – the Lake Maintenance Gold Award – for an individual or team that shows exemplary work.

Applications for the awards close on the 16 August 2013 and more information and application forms can be found at:
