About the Health Council of Tasmania

The Health Council of Tasmania (HCT) is a diverse group of skilled and experienced leaders and professionals within the Tasmanian health system who assist the Minister for Health by establishing key priorities for the Tasmanian health system, accessing the views of key stakeholders across the health sector and within Tasmanian communities, and contributing to the implementation of key Tasmanian health reforms including the Healthy Tasmania and One State, One Health System, Better Health Outcomes.

The HCT plays an important part in setting the strategic direction of health and healthcare in Tasmania. The HCT represents that views of clinicians, consumers and community members to the Minister for Health and appropriate senior officers within the Tasmanian health system.

A part of this role is to actively consult with consumers, community members and other identified stakeholders about their issues and priorities for health and healthcare.

Any enquiries about these forums or the HCT can be sent to the Office of the Secretary, Department of Health via
