When it is time for your baby's birth call one of your known midwives and arrange when to go to the hospital. Ideally your midwife will meet you there and stay with you until you have your baby. You may be cared for by a midwife who usually works on birthing suite.

If you and the baby are well, you will then be supported to go home approximately four to six hours after the birth. This enables you to relax in your own home with your family and to bond with your new baby.

Once home your midwives will visit you for up to two weeks.
